How it works
Why fewer payments?
If everyone pays back whoever paid, a trip can mean lots of little transfers. EvenUp looks for small groups who already cancel each other out and settles each group on its own, so the whole thing takes as few payments as possible.
Where is my data?
Only on this device. The page can't send anything anywhere. A share link carries the split inside the link itself, after the #, which your browser never sends to a server.
What about the odd cent?
Splits are worked out to the cent and always add up. When a cost doesn't divide evenly, the extra cent goes to a different person each time.
